Today's Influence Ads: Cable Rules, API On Oil and Gas Jobs

American Petroleum Institute has two new ads out today. One features a cartoon of an astronaut trying to launch a rocket by jumping on a seesaw, under the heading "Life without fossil fuels." The other ad touts the oil and gas industry as generating 9.2 million jobs.

The American Television Alliance has a new ad calling for an update of cable rules ahead of the July 24 Senate hearing "The Cable Act at 20." Hyatt and the National Conference Center also have new ads.

Those with continuing ads, per Kantar Media's Washington Eye, include: ABB, Boeing Company, Global Security Newswire, Goldman Sachs, Honda, Livestrong, Lockheed Martin (which has two), National Association of Broadcasters, National Cable and Telecommunications Association, Southern Company, US Airways, WellPoint, and WTOP.
